Empowering a seamless rebrand across four museums to enhance the visitor experience.
In a dynamic, fast-paced collaboration with Queensland Museum (QM), the Aceik team delivered on a visual rebrand initiative that updated and realigned QM's identity across its network of four museums. Challenges and Objectives
The primary challenge was the tight timeline within which the rebranding had to be executed. Aceik addressed this by leveraging a 'themeable' site implementation delivered in early 2023. This strategic foundation facilitated a streamlined and efficient process, ensuring the project's successful completion within the required timeframe.
Strategic Approach
Aceik's approach began with a thorough UX and Creative assessment to identify any accessibility or user experience concerns. A new accessible colour palette was crafted to ensure optimal visual contrast and compliance with WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards. This not only enhanced the overall user experience but also reinforced QM's commitment to inclusivity.
A Digital Guidelines document was created to ensure the new brand would be implemented consistently across both digital and non-digital touch points. This comprehensive guide serves as a reference for consistent and cohesive branding applications, empowering QM to maintain a strong and unified presence across multiple channels and touch points.
URL updates for all museum sites were efficiently managed, accompanied by corresponding redirects and remaps based on the previous addresses. This meticulous process ensured a smooth transition for visitors, preventing disruptions and preserving the continuity of the museums' online presence.
To tackle the challenge of content updates associated with museum name changes, Aceik implemented a global find-and-replace tool. This innovative solution enabled bulk content changes, guaranteeing a swift and accurate transition to the updated brand identity.
Results and Impact
The technical and UX changes necessary for the rebrand were delivered with precision, achieving and surpassing expectations. The updated Queensland Museum brand now stands proudly across all touch points, reflecting a modern and cohesive identity.
The successful implementation of the rebrand is prominently showcased on Queensland Museum's website.
The site not only embodies the refreshed visual identity but also reflects a commitment to accessibility and user-centric design.
